Tim Tebow Draws Crowd Speaking at Salvation Army Event in Florida

Last Friday, Manatee County got a visit from one of the biggest sports stars in the history of the state of Florida.  Newly signed Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Tim Tebow addressed a packed house at Bayside Community Church for the Salvation Army’s Evening of Hope.

Over 900 tickets were sold to the event at $75 a pop.  Tebow spoke about his life and principles of faith that have guided it for 45 minutes.

Despite limited playing time in the NFL, Tebow is a cultural phenomenon.  His strong religious convictions, community leadership, and college accolades have made him a sought-after speaker.

Tebow won two BCS National Championships and the 2007 Heisman Trophy while quarterbacking the Florida Gators.  He set several Southeastern Conference and Florida records.

After being a first round pick of the Denver Broncos in the 2010 NFL Draft, Tebow did experience some success.  He took over a 1-4 Broncos team in 2011 and guided them to the AFC West title along with an overtime postseason win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tebow also spent time with the New York Jets and New England Patriots.  He was an analyst on the new SEC Network during the 2014 football season.
