Top Golfer Rory McIlroy Signs Endorsement Deal with TaylorMade

With the shutdown of Nike's golf equipment division, Rory McIlroy has been on the hunt for a new provider. He has agreed to a long-term deal with TaylorMade Golf Company.

McIlroy will use TaylorMade clubs and golf balls in competition. The TaylorMade roster now includes the top three players and six of the top 12 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

After originally stating that he would test out several different manufacturers for the whole 2017 season, McIlroy cut the process short to sign with TaylorMade. The deal officially goes into action this weekend at The Players.

McIlroy is a four-time major winner. In 2011, he won his first major, the U.S. Open, with a tournament record score of -16.

McIlroy has spent 95 weeks atop the World Golf Rankings. He has won 13 times on the PGA Tour and 13 times on the European Tour.

In 2012 and 2014, McIlroy topped the PGA Tour money list and was named PGA Tour Player of the Year. On three occasions, he was the European Tour Order of Merit winner and the European Tour Golfer of the Year.
