U.S. Soccer Star Carli Lloyd Speaks at UC-Santa Barbara in January

Carli Lloyd’s World Cup heroics this summer have made her an inspiration to many.  Lloyd has particularly been a hit on the college speaker circuit.

Just a few weeks ago, she opened up the Broward College Speaker Series and on January 26, she will be heading to UC-Santa Barbara to speak.  The event is held by UCSB Arts & Lectures and will be at The Arlington Theater.

Lloyd will speak to the crowd about becoming an elite athlete and also participate in a Q&A.  Tickets go on sale through the school on Friday, December 11th.

The price points for tickets are $35, $15, and $5 for all students and youth under the age of 18.  Tickets that come with an addition meet and greet cost $125 for the general public and $75 for students and youth.

No one on the U.S. women’s national soccer team performs better in big moments than Lloyd.  She scored the game-winning goals in the gold medal matches of the 2008 Olympics, 2012 Olympics, and this past World Cup final against Japan.

Her three goals all told in the match against Japan came in the first 16 minutes of play.  They allowed Team USA to coast to the 5-2 victory and cemented Lloyd as the winner of the Golden Ball Trophy as the tournament’s best player.

Lloyd is currently busy celebrating the World Cup victory by touring with her U.S. teammates through the middle of December.  She is also gearing up for another season with her club team, the Houston Dash, and the 2016 Olympics.
