Lindsay Whalen is one of the top stars in women's basketball. She is also an institution in the state of Minnesota and the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission is excited to be bringing in the home-state hero to speak. 

Whalen is the keynote speaker for the 13th Annual Rochester Area Sports Banquet. The event will take place beginning with a reception at 5:30 p.m. on January 29th at the Rochester Event Center. 

There are 550 tickets available at a price of $40 and interested parties can also purchase a table for $400. Last year, former Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway was the speaker. 

Whalen is the all-time leading scorer in University of Minnesota history and finished fifth all-time in the Big Ten with 9,866 points. She began her professional career with the Connecticut Sun before joining the Minnesota Lynx in 2010.

Whalen has gone on to lead the Lynx to four WNBA championships. She has been a five-time WNBA All-Star and five-time member of the All-WNBA team. 

Whalen has led the league in assists three times and is the WNBA's all-time assists leader in postseason play. She was named to the WNBA's 20@20 list in 2016.
