Alex Pietrangelo Biography

Alex Pietrangelo is a defenseman and captain for the St. Louis Blues. The Blues originally selected him fourth overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut that next season, but played in just eight games. He became a full-time player during the 2010-11 season. Pietrangelo has been named to the NHL Second All-Star Team twice. He has scored over 40 points for the Blues on five occasions. Pietrangelo has represented Canada in international competition. He won a gold medal at the 2010 World Junior Championships and was named an All-Star of the tournament. Pietrangelo was part of gold medal-winning teams at the 2014 Olympics and 2016 World Championships as well.
