Alex Wood Biography

Alex Wood is one of baseball's top pitchers for the San Francisco Giants. He had his true breakout with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2017. Wood was named the National League Pitcher of the Month that year in May after going 5-0 with a 1.87 ERA. He compiled a 28 scoreless innings streak that was snapped on June 10th. Wood started 10-0 and was named an All-Star. He originally joined the Dodgers in 2015 and spent two years as a spot starter. Wood pitched at the University of Georgia and was originally selected in the second round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves. He began his career a year later with the Braves.
