Aramis Ramirez Biography

A three-time All-Star, Aramis Ramirez was a feared power-hitting third basemen. His 18 year career was spent in the National League Central Division with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, and Milwaukee Brewers. Ramirez hammered 386 home runs and had over 2,000 hits. He started at third base for the NL in the 2014 All-Star Game. Three times he has finished in the top ten in balloting for the MVP award and he won the 2011 Silver Slugger as the best offensive player at third base in the NL. Ramirez had three trips to the postseason with the Cubs and belted three home runs in the 2003 NLCS. He was originally signed by the Pirates out of the Dominican Republic in 1994. When Ramirez made his major league debut in 1998, he was the youngest player in the game.
