Carlos Santana Biography

Carlos Santana has been one of the most productive hitters in baseball for his entire career. Santana arrived to the Cleveland Indians in 2010 as one of the most touted catching prospects in recent memory. Now, he spends more time at first base, but is still a feared hitter.  In 2014, Santana had 27 homers, 85 RBI, and an American League-high 113 walks.  He was considered one of the more valuable players in Cleveland when they made the postseason in 2013. Santana came up in the middle of 2010 and was immediately slotted to hit third in the Indians lineup.  Baseball America ranked him as the organization’s top prospect in both 2009 and 2010.  Santana received the Lou Boudreau Award as Cleveland’s Minor League Player of the Year in 2009.  The Los Angeles Dodgers originally signed him into professional baseball out of the Dominican Republic in 2005.
