Chad Henne Biography

Chad Henne is a professional quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL. Henne attended the University of Michigan where he entered the Wolverines’ football team as a freshman in 2004. Henne started the season opener against Miami and he became the second true freshman in Michigan history to start on opening day. In 2008, Henne was named the Capital One Bowl MVP. Henne’s passing touchdown total is the second in Big Ten Conference history. The Miami Dolphins selected Henne as the 57th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. On July 26, 2008, Henne signed a four-year, $3.5 million contract with the Dolphins. Henne made his NFL debut in week 2 of the 2008 season against Arizona, but he spent the remainder of the season on the bench. Henne made his first professional start on October 4, 2009 against Buffalo and led them to their first victory of the season. It was announced on February 21, 2012, that the Dolphins would not re-sign Henne and he became a free agent. On March 14, 2012, Henne signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He started in parts of three seasons for the Jaguars before serving as a mentor to first round pick Blake Bortles.
