Claude Lemieux Biography

Claude Lemieux was known as a winner during his days as a physical right wing in the NHL.  Lemieux is one of only ten players to win Stanley Cups with three separate teams.  Somehow, he always found a knack for raising his game in the playoffs and his 80 postseason goals place in the top ten in league history.  Lemieux spent his first seven seasons with the Montreal Canadiens and won his first Cup in 1986.  In 1995, he capped a five year run with the New Jersey Devils by winning the Conn Smythe Trophy on the way to his second championship.  A year later, Lemieux would become just the tenth player to win back to back Stanley Cups with different teams when he helped get the Colorado Avalanche to the top.  Three out of his four Stanley Cup-winning seasons, he scored more goals in the playoffs than the regular season.  After five seasons out of the game, Lemieux successfully came back for 18 games with the San Jose Sharks in 2009.  Also in retirement, he has taken part in several reality shows and been a go-to hockey expert based on his many years in the NHL.
