Devin Harris Biography

He may only be six-foot-three, but Devin Harris is an electric star in the NBA.  A Wisconsin native, Harris represented his home state Badgers well during his college days, earning Big Ten Player of the Year and All-American honors while playing at the University of Wisconsin in 2004.  His performance that season set the stage for his future NBA success, earning him a first round selection by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2004 NBA Draft.  From 2004 to 2008 he starred in Dallas before being traded to the New Jersey Nets and earning his first All-Star appearance in 2009.  He’s since played for the Utah Jazz and Atlanta Hawks, and made his return to Dallas in 2013.  Harris’ best season came during his All-Star year when he posted 21.3 points and 6.9 assists per game for the Nets.  Some of his proudest accomplishments include owning the Guinness World Record for “fastest man with a basketball”, having run the length of a basketball court in 3.9 seconds, and being awarded the NBA’s Community Assist Award for his work in the community through his organization, 34 Ways to Assist.
