Gary Clark Biography

Gary Clark is a former professional wide receiver in the NFL. Clark attended James Madison University where he played football and caught 155 passes for 2, 863 yards and 16 touchdowns. In 1982, Clark was named the Virginia Offensive Player of the Year and in 1982 and 1983, he was named honorable mention All-American. He is the first person to have his jersey retired from James Madison. The Jacksonville Bulls selected Clark in the United States Football League draft. Clark spent two seasons with the Bulls before he went and played in the NFL. The Washington Redskins selected Clark in the second round of the 1984 NFL Supplemental Draft of USFL and CFL Players. Clark also played for the Phoenix/ Arizona Cardinals and the Miami Dolphins. Clark was a 4x Pro Bowl selection, 3x All-Pro selection, JMU Athletic Hall of Fame inductee and 2007 Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inductee. He also won Super Bowl XXII and XXVI.
