Hedo Turkoglu Biography

Hedo Turkoglu is former a professional basketball forward. Turkoglu is from Turkey, and spent four seasons playing in the EuroLeague before coming over to the NBA in 2000. Turkoglu made his NBA debut in 2000 after being selected by the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the 2000 NBA Draft, becoming the first Turkish-born player in NBA history. In the 2003 offseason, Turkoglu was traded to the San Antonio Spurs, where he only played one season but averaged 9.2 points per game. Turkoglu joined the Orlando Magic in 2004, and became an important part of their success during the early 2000s. In 2008, Turkoglu earned the NBA Most Improved Player, and led the Magic to the NBA Finals just one year later. After stops with the Raptors and another stint with the Magic, Turkoglu signed with the Los Angeles Clippers for the 2013 season. He retired in 2015 and became President of the Turkish Basketball Federation.
