Howard Cross Biography

Howard Cross is a retired NFL tight end who spent twelve seasons in the league with the New York Giants. Prior to his time in the NFL, Cross played football in Alabama, and attended the University of Alabama on athletic scholarship. After graduating, Cross entered the 1989 NFL Draft, where he was selected in the sixth round by the New York Giants. Known mainly as a prolific blocker, Cross caught 201 passes for 2,194 yards and 17 touchdowns, and helped the Giants to their Super Bowl victory in 1990 over the Buffalo Bills. His 207 games as a Giant is the most of anyone to ever play for the team, and he was a fan favorite among Giants faithful. Following his retirement, Cross pursued a broadcasting career, and he currently works as a co-host for a segment on the YES Network as well as being a side line reporter for the New York Giants Radio Network.
