Jeff Beukeboom Biography

Jeff Beukeboom is a former Canadian professional hockey player in the National Hockey League. As a right-handed defenseman, he played the entirety of his professional career for the New York Rangers sand the Edmonton Oilers. His playing career spanned over a decade, lasting from 1985 to 1999. Beukeboom was originally born in Ontario, Canada in 1965 and played junior hockey throughout his early years before being selected in the 1983 NHL Draft. He was selected as the nineteenth overall pick by the Edmonton Oilers. Beukeboom was on four Stanley Cup winning teams before retiring in 1999 due to postconcussion symptoms that he had been suffering from for over two years. After retiring, Beukeboom returned to hockey as an assistant coach in the American Hockey League. He also became President and part-owner of the Ontario Provincial Junior "A" Hockey League.
