Jeff Conine Biography

Jeff Conine played 17 big league seasons for six different franchises, but he will always be best known as, “Mr. Marlin”. Conine was the only player on the Florida Marlins roster for each of their World Series victories.  He had two stints with the franchise but was a member of the inaugural 1993 team. The following two seasons saw Conine earn the two All-Star appearances of his career.  In 1995, he hit a pinch-hit eighth-inning home run for the National League to win All-Star Game MVP honors.  

Following his first run with the Marlins, Conine also had several successful seasons with the Baltimore Orioles. He came up through the Kansas City Royals system and was a pitcher in college at UCLA.  Conine defied the odds as he was originally a 58th-round pick in 1987.  He remains a special assistant to the Chairman of the Miami Marlins.
