Justin Turner Biography

Justin Turner is a third baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Turner made the College World Series in back-to-back years with Cal State Fullerton and won a title in 2004. The Cincinnati Reds selected him in the sixth round of the 2006 MLB Draft. After being traded to the Baltimore Orioles, he made his major league debut in 2009. Turner spent two seasons with the Orioles and then joined the New York Mets in 2010. He was released again by a team when the Mets let him go in 2013, but finally found a home with the Dodgers. During his first season in Los Angeles, he hit .340 in 109 games. During the 2015 National League Division Series, he hit an LDS record six doubles. Turner stepped it up another notch in 2016, hitting 27 home runs and 90 RBI. He helped the Dodgers reach the playoffs again and finished ninth in National League MVP voting. Turner started the season hitting an MLB-high .379 batting average. He was named to his first All-Star team with a "Final Vote" record 20.8 million votes.
