Lucas Duda Biography

Lucas Duda is the first baseman for the New York Mets.  Duda debuted with the Mets in 2010.  He had a breakout season in 2014, hitting 30 home runs with 92 RBI.  His home run total was good for third in the National League.  Duda gained some acclaim in the minor leagues, being named MVP of the AAA Buffalo Bisons in 2010.  The Mets originally selected him in the seventh round out of USC in 2007.  Duda is a native of Fontana, California and played three college seasons with the Trojans.  He led the team in home runs his senior season.  At Arlington High School, Duda was a preseason All-American his senior year.  He went on to earn All-State honors as his team captured the 2004 CIF Division 1 Championship.
