Marco Belinelli Biography

Marco Belinelli has played for five NBA franchises, but has found the most success with his current team, the San Antonio Spurs.  With the Spurs in 2014, Belinelli became the first Italian-born player to ever win an NBA title.  During NBA All-Star Weekend that season, he also won the Three-Point Shootout.  Belinelli has gained a reputation as a clutch shot maker and critical role player. He made an early splash in the league, scoring 37 points in his first NBA game at the Vegas Pro Summer League. The Golden State Warriors originally selected him with the 18th overall pick in 2007 and he has also played for the Toronto Raptors, New Orleans Hornets, and Chicago Bulls.  Belinelli originally started his pro career playing in Italy with Virtus Bologna and Fortitudo Bologna.  He is a Nike athlete and his likeness is used by the company for their marketing efforts in Italy.
