Melanie Margalis Biography

Melanie Margalis was a member of the 4x200 freestyle relay team that won a gold medal at the 2016 Olympics.  She also swam for Team USA in the 200 individual medley, coming in fourth.  Margalis qualified for the Games by finishing second in the 200 IM at the U.S. Olympic Trials.  She has been a specialist throughout her career in the event, winning a 200 IM bronze medal at the 2014 Short Course Worlds and the gold that same year at Nationals.  Sbe also won bronze in the 200 breast and 400 IM at 2014 Nationals.  Margalis swam collegiately at the University of Georgia and helped the Bulldogs win NCAA women's team championships in 2013 and 2014.
