NaVorro Bowman Biography

NaVarro Bowman is former professional football player in the National Football League who spent the majority of his career as an inside linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers. He began his career in football when he was still in high school where he quickly became a standout star. In college Bowman played for the Penn State Nittany Lions football team where his production on the field led to him being selected as a Big Ten Defensive Player of the Weeks twice, and was selected to the All-Big Ten team in 2008. NaVorro was then selected as the 91st overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. He was selected as a first-team All-Pro four times and made three Pro Bowls in eight years with the Niners. Bowman also led his team to the NFC Championship in 2012. He spent part of his last season in the league with the Oakland Raiders before officially retiring as a 49er in 2019.
