Pedro Feliciano Biography

Pedro Feliciano is an MLB pitcher, currently pitching in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. Originally selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1995 MLB Draft, Feliciano would never make it to the big leagues during his time in Los Angeles, and he eventually signed with the Cincinnati Reds in 2002. Midway through the 2002 season, Feliciano was traded to the New York Mets, and finally made his major league debut on September 4, 2002 in a game against the Florida Marlins. In three seasons with the Mets, Feliciano would experience moderate success, but was up and down from the minors multiple times. In 2005, Feliciano played a season in the Japanese Pacific League, but returned to the MLB in 2006 as a left-handed specialist with the Mets. In the 2008, 2009, and 2010 seasons, Feliciano led the MLB in appearances, emerging into a reliable bullpen pitcher who could work various innings. In 2011, Feliciano signed with the New York Yankees, but injuries would force him to miss two whole seasons, and he left the team in 2013 without ever throwing a pitch. Feliciano returned to the Mets in 2013 on a minor league deal, appearing in the majors a few times that season. On May 25, 2014, Feliciano signed with the St. Louis Cardinals, the team he plays with today, as he looks to get his career back on track.
