Reggie Smith Biography
Reggie Smith is a retired Major League Baseball player. During his 17 year career in the majors Reggie played in 1,987 games with a batting average of .287 and 314 home runs. The switch hitting outfielder had one of the strongest throwing arms of any outfielder in the big leagues during his career. While he played in four World Series, including in his rookie season, he was successful in winning one, the 1981 World Series. Smith has also been a 7 time All-Star and a Gold Glove Award winner. Following his retirement from the game as a player Reggie couldnt stay away for long and became a coach. He returned to the Dodgers as a coach, instructor, and player development official. He also became involved with USA Baseball where he has served in several positions including serving as the hitting coach for the 2008 Olympic Bronze medal team. Now a days Reggie can be found conducting his own baseball academies where he trains youth players.
