Ryan Shazier Biography

Ryan Shazier is a fairly new addition to the National Football League, but definitely one of its most promising ones. Born in 1992 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Shazier debuted professionally at 22 years old as the fifteenth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers and had amassed a total of 36 tackles by his seventeenth week in the NFL. Prior to his professional career, Shazier was an Ohio State graduate. He was named an AllAmerican at Ohio State. While he has suffered for many years with a disease known as alopecia, which inhibits hair growth, he has served as an admirable example of how you can never let an abnormality get in the way of accomplishing your dreams. Shazier has displayed a positive attitude throughout the diagnosis of his disease and has never let it get the best of him. He focuses on being the best that he can be both on and off the field, and is currently establishing himself as a remarkable linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
