Salvador Perez Biography

Salvador Perez is already one of the best catchers in baseball and is only expected to get better.  Perez is a two-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glove winner for the Kansas City Royals.  He was instrumental to the Royals run to the 2014 World Series.  That season he started a MLB-best 143 games behind the plate.  Then in the playoffs, Perez had the walk-off single to win the American League Wild Card Playoff in the 12th inning over the Oakland Athletics.  He originally debuted with the club in 2011.  The Royals signed Perez out of Venezuela at the age of 16.  He grew up playing against Houston Astros All-Star Jose Altuve.  One of the weirdest aspects of Perez is his superstition of always wearing Victoria Secret women’s perfume when he is at the plate.
