Stephen Vogt Biography

Stephen Vogt is the catcher for the Oakland Athletics.  Vogt has made back-to-back All-Star squads in 2015 and 2016.  That 2015 campaign was his first as a full-time starter.  Vogt finished the year hitting .261 with 18 home runs and 71 RBI.  He originally debuted in the big leagues with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2012 and spent the next two years as a midseason callup for the A's.  The Rays drafted Vogt in the 12th round of the 2007 MLB Draft.  He got noticed after having a banner career at Division II Azusa Pacific University.  For his college career, Vogt hit .448 with 31 home runs.  He helped lead the school to the NAIA World Series while also being named an NAIA All-American.
