Steven Adams Biography

Steven Adams, a New Zealand native, currently stands seven feet tall as a center for the Houston Rockets. As the youngest of his father’s eighteen children, Adams' entire family is known for their exceptional height, with his brothers averaging a height of 6’9” and his sisters averaging 6’0”. His siblings are known for their athletic talent, as well, with one of his sisters an Olympic gold medalist and a brother in the NZNBL. Moving to America with one of his brothers after his father’s death, Adams attended the University of Pittsburgh for only one year before being drafted into the NBA. In the 2013 NBA Draft, Adams was selected as the 12th overall pick for the Oklahoma City Thunder, becoming the first New Zealander to ever be selected in the first round. Before being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in 2020, Adams was a reliable contributor for contending teams in OKC.
