Ted Phillips Biography

Ted Phillips is the current President and CEO of the Chicago Bears. Phillips first began working with the Bears in 1984 as the teams Controller, eventually being promoted to the teams Director of Finance position in 1988. Five years later, Phillips would be promoted again to Vice President of Operations, continuing his climb up the Chicago Bears corporate ladder. Due to him earning his Master’s degree in Marketing and Management, along with his dedication to the Bears, Phillips was named Chief Executive Officer and President of the Chicago Bears in 1999, a position he currently holds today. During his tenure, Phillips has done many things to please the Bears’ fan base, including the improvement in stability of the team’s front office and moving the Bears’ training camp back to Illinois in 2002. All of his actions as CEO and President have helped the team rise in value, and Phillips currently has the Bears ranked in the Top 10 Most Valuable NFL Teams.
