On Monday, Tiger Woods was making the media rounds in New York City promoting his new book, "The 1997 Masters: My Story." He also held a book signing in the city.
Woods was at the Barnes & Noble location in Union Square at 12:30 p.m. Wristbands were distributed beginning at 9 a.m. and the limited supply was quickly scooped up.
Woods only autographed copies of the book at the event. The book was co-written by Lorne Rubenstein and chronicles the remarkable story of his first major victory.
Woods has won 14 major championships, which ranks second all-time to Jack Nicklaus. After turning pro the summer prior, he announced his presence in the sports world after winning the Masters by a record-breaking 12 strokes.
For over 500 weeks, Woods has been the number one ranked golfer in the world. He has won 79 events on the PGA Tour, which is second-most to Sam Snead's record of 82.
Woods has been named PGA Player of the Year a record 11 times. After multiple back surgeries in 2015, he is currently efforting a comeback and hopes to play at this year's Masters.
