Last week was certainly a monumnetal one in the life of new Phoenix Suns forward Dragan Bender. In addition to being draft, he also agreed to an endorsement deal with Adidas.
Bender will wear Adidas shoes and apparel. Prior to arriving in the NBA, he has had a relationship with the company dating back to his days in Croatia.
Adidas signed five total players from the 2016 draft class, including second pick Brandon Ingram, third pick Jaylen Brown, fifth pick Kris Dunn and seventh pick Jamal Murray. All five will be heavily marketed at several events this summer.
Bender was selected fourth overall by the Suns after being though of as the top international prospect in the class. He had made a name for himself over the past year playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv.
In 2016, Bender was named an All-Star and helped the team win an Israeli State Cup championship. He spent his first year in Israel playing for second division Ironi Ramat Gan.
Bender's pro career started at the age of 15 in Croatia. While not suiting up for his county at this summer's Olympics, he plans to be a prominent member of the Croatian national team for years to come.
