Oral Roberts landed one of the hottest names in baseball to speak at their annual Diamond Dinner.  Recently named American League Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel will be the event’s keynote speaker.

The Diamond Dinner supports the baseball program and takes place on January 15th at the Glenpool Conference Center.  A silent auction starts the evening off at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and Keuchel’s speech.

Individual tickets cost $60 and there are a variety of VIP packages also available.  It will be a homecoming of sorts for Keuchel, who is a Tulsa native.

One of the main reasons the Houston Astros were able to qualify for the postseason was the success of their emerging ace.  Keuchel went 20-8 with a 2.48 ERA and 216 strikeouts.

The left-hander led the AL in wins, innings pitched, WAR, and WHIP.  He was a perfect 15-0 at home at Minute Maid Park.

During his magical 2015 campaign, Keuchel also made his first All-Star team and won his second straight Gold Glove.  He first emerged in 2014, finishing the year with a 12-9 record and a 2.93 ERA.

The Astros originally selected Keuchel in the seventh round of the 2009 MLB Draft. He rose quickly through the system and made his major league debut in 2012.
