All-Time Hit King Pete Rose Makes Appearance in Dayton

Next weekend, Dayton, Ohio's new Rip Rap Roadhouse is enlisting the help of the one of the state's all-time great sports stars for their grand opening.  On Saturday, legendary Cincinnati Reds player Pete Rose will take part in the festivities.

Events will begin with a $200 VIP luncheon at the restaurant from 11 a.m-12 p.m.  Following the lunch, Rose will make a presentation on the outdoor stage and participate in a question and answer session.

After the Q&A, Rose will sign autographs and take pictures.  Most memorabilia brought to the event will cost $45 for signatures while a variety of other prices exist for pre-ordered items to be signed.

Rose collected a Major League Baseball record 4,256 hits over 24 seasons.  He was a 17-time All-Star and won three batting titles during his career.

Most importantly, Rose won three World Series titles, including two with the famed Big Red Machine squads.  Some of his other more significant achievements including winning two Gold Gloves and the 1973 MVP award.

Rose also managed the Reds for five seasons before gambling allegations derailed his post-playing career.  He turned a negative into a positive however, still serving as one of baseball's best ambassadors throughout the years up through his current tenure as a top analyst for Fox Sports.
