Basketball Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning is set to be one of two keynote speakers at a premier conference in his own backyard.  The former Miami Heat star joins Kevin O’Leary from ABC’s SharkTank at the TigerDirect: Innovation IT Conference and Expo November 6th. 

The event is going to be held at Marlins Park adjacent to downtown Miami, showcase the latest technology advancements, and bring together IT leaders.  Mourning is slated to talk about how entrepreneurs can take the mentality he played with on the court and apply it to their business.

Mourning is beloved in South Florida for his storied career on the court and his work in the community off of it.  The seven-time All-Star was a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and keyed the first sustained run of success in Heat franchise history.

Boasting career averages of 17.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game, Mourning certainly stood out in an era of dominant centers.  He retired with over 14,000 points scored. 

Now, Mourning stays busy working with his family foundation.  He also serves the Heat as Vice President of Player Programs.
