Arizona Wildcats Legend Lute Olson Named Keynote Speaker at NAU Coaches Dinner

Former Arizona Wildcats head coach Lute Olson is an institution in The Grand Canyon State.  On July 30th, Olson is the keynote speaker for the fourth annual Northern Arizona University Lumberjack Basketball Coaches Dinner.

The dinner kicks off a weekend of events that continues with the Lumberjack Coaches Clinic.  Dinner tickets run $95 and can be purchased here

In addition, the coaches clinic will feature the men’s and women’s staffs at NAU and notables like Oklahoma men’s basketball head coach Lon Kruger.  Registration for that can be accessed here

Olson went 589-187 in 25 seasons at Arizona and was 781-280 overall as a head coach.  The Wildcats made 23 straight trips to March Madness, were in four Final Fours, and won the 1997 national championship under his watch.

UA dominated the Pac-10 under Olson’s watch, winning 11 conference titles.  He was also named Pac-10 Coach of the Year seven times and got inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002. 

Even in retirement, Olson remains a vital part of Arizona basketball.  He serves as an ambassador and consultant for the alumni foundation.
