The Atlanta Hawks are actively engaged in improving their community and one of the ways they work to accomplish this initiative is through the annual MOSAIC Symposium. Similarly, ESPN personality Jemele Hill is not afraid to speak her mind about some of the pressing social and political issues of the day.
Hill keynotes this year's invitation-only event, which will be held on March 14th at the Georgia Railroad Freight Depot. The theme of MOSAIC (Model of Shaping Atlanta) is "disruption."
Hill will talk about creating change and what is needed for greater diversity and inclusion. Other topics that have been previously addressed at MOSAIC are gender and race in sports and athletes roles as activists.
Hill is currently a chief correspondent and senior columnist at ESPN's The Undefeated. She recently joined the site after serving as the co-anchor on the 6 p.m. Sportscenter, which was rebranded as SC6.
Along with her SC6 co-host Michael Smith, Hill hosted the ESPN2 show, His & Hers, for three years. She originally joined ESPN as a national columnist in 2006.
Hill spent two years as a columnist at the Orlando Sentinel and was a sports writer for the Detroit Free Press from 1999-2005. She began her career with the Raleigh News & Observer.
