Baltimore Orioles great Jim Palmer is always a welcome face at Camden Yards. Today, the team is hosting him for a signing of his new book, "Nine Innings to Success".
Palmer is scheduled to be at the Orioles Official Team Store at the ballpark from 5:30-7 p.m. Copies of the book at the signing are $27.
The book chronicles Palmer's journey through baseball as well as his life after retirement. There are tons of stories from his baseball days as well as successful tips he has learned as a broadcaster and businessman.
Palmer has one of the greatest pitching careers in baseball history over the 19 years he spent with the Orioles. He was the winningest pitcher of the 1970's and racked up 268 victories total.
On eight occasions, Palmer won 20 or more games in a season. He captured three American League Cy Young Awards and four Gold Gloves.
Most importantly to Baltimore fans, the six-time All-Star pitched for the franchise in their greatest era, making eight playoff trips during his tenure and winning three World Series. In 1990, Palmer was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on the first ballot.
