Baltimore Ravens Legend Ray Lewis Prepares Powerful Hall of Fame Induction Speech

Anyone who has ever heard Baltimore Ravens legend Ray Lewis speak understands how impactful his words can be. He is known as one of the most influential leaders in recent sports history and some of his pregame talks have become the stuff of legends.

Lewis has another major speech ahead of him when he is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 4th. He is already actively preparing his presentation and he recently gave the Hall of Fame some insight into what might be in store.

"I got to have it come from my heart," said Lewis. "That's one thing about my story, my legacy. It's all embedded in my heart. There's nothing that I can't write on paper that I don't have in my heart. For me, I'll probably have bullet points because I can get passionate, but the bullet points will be things that really just clue me back into the moment."

Many Ravens fans will be on hand to hear Lewis share great memories of his career. The festivities of Hall of Fame weekend should be even more special for Lewis and his supporters with Baltimore playing in the Hall of Fame Game.

One can imagine that when Lewis watches that game, he will probably have a desire to strap on the pads one more time. Over a 17-year career with the Ravens he established a reputation as one of the greatest linebackers in football history.

Lewis was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2000 and 2003. That first year, he was named MVP of Super Bowl XXXV as Baltimore toppled the New York Giants.

Lewis was also the heart and soul of the team that won Super Bowl XLVII. He became the first player in league history to total over 40 sack sacks and 30 interceptions in his career.

Lewis was a 12-time Pro Bowler and eight-time All-Pro. He retired after the 2012 season and he remains a popular guest on the speaking circuit while also serving as a broadcaster for Fox Sports.
