Baseball Hall of Famer Juan Marichal Speaks at Colorado Fundraiser January 28th

One of the greatest pitchers of all-time is lending his time to help the Colorado-based non-profit, Friends of Baseball. Baseball Hall of Famer Juan Marichal is the speaker for their 30th annual Breakfast of Champions. 

The event takes place on January 28th at the Island Grove Events Center in Greeley. $10 tickets are available at venues across the city and table sponsorships can also be purchased. 

Proceeds raised benefi Friends of Baseball, a group that helps grow the game locally. Marichal will certainly have great stories to tell from an iconic career. 

Marichal is best known for spent the first 14 years of his 16-year big league career with the San Francisco Giants. He made ten All-Star teams while with the franchise and led the National League in wins and ERA once. 

Overall, Marichal totaled 243 wins, a 2.89 ERA and 2,303 strikeouts. He won more games than any other pitcher in the 1960s. 

In 1983, Marichal was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on the third ballot. He also has his #27 retired by the Giants and is a member of the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame.
