There is no denying that Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley has the gift of gab. On Monday night, the Katz Jewish Community Center brought him in to keynote their annual Sports Award Dinner.

The dinner was held beginning at 5:45 at the JCC located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.  Barkley talked about the positive role sports has played in his life. 

General admission tickets were $100.  VIP packages ranged in price from $600-$1000.  

Barkley is known as one of the best power forwards of all-time and made 11 NBA All-Star teams.  He finished his career with almost 24,000 points scored and made a lasting impact on three franchises: the Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets. 

In Barkley's first season in Phoenix, he was named NBA MVP and led the franchise to the NBA Finals in 1993.  Later on in the decade, he was named one of the top 50 players in league history. 

Barkley has his jersey retired by the Suns and Sixers.  He remains a prominent figure in the basketball world today as a colorful analyst on TNT's award-winning "Inside the NBA".
