Basketball Hall of Famer James Worthy is a legend in Southern California. He is returning this year to help a local organization raise money at their annual golf tournament. 

Worthy will be speaking at the Angels Nest Transitional Living Program's Annual Golf Tournament. The event takes place on September 25th at the Porter Valley Country Club in Northridge. 

The cost of registration to play golf is $200 and that includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Individuals can attend the dinner only and hear Worthy speak for only $60. 

After leading the University of North Carolina to a NCAA Championship and being named Most Oustanding Player of the Final Four in 1982, Worthy was selected with the number one pick by the Los Angeles Lakers. 

Worthy did not disappoint as a professional and went on to be named to seven All-Star teams. He won three NBA titles with the Lakers and was named MVP of the 1988 NBA Finals. 

Worthy has his jersey retired by both the Tar Heels and the Lakers. He was named to the NBA's 50th Anniversary Team and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003.
