Next Thusday, basketball great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will make an important appearance on the camput of North Central College.  He is speaking about and signing copies of his book, "Writings on the Wall". 

The appearance will be held in Pfeiffer Hall at 7 p.m..  Tickets are available for purchase for $32 a person or $40 each for a couple.  

Those tickets include a copy of the book and a spot in the signing line.  At the appearance, Abdul-Jabbar will be interviewed by famed Chicago columnist Richard Roeper.  

Even though he retired in 1989, Abdul-Jabbar still reigns supreme as the NBA's all-time leading scorer with 38,387 career points.  He defined a generation of big men and won a record six Most Valuable Player awards. 

Abdul-Jabbar was also an All-Star a record 19 times.  He was named to the All-NBA team on 15 occasions and was an 11-time All-Defensive team member.  

Abdul-Jabbar won six championships and was a two-time NBA Finals MVP.  He is a member of the Basketball Hall of Famd and has his jersey retired by the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers.
