Rockbridge is hosting their sixth annual Rock the Road Experience on August 3-6. They have pegged basketball icon Bill Walton to serve as the leadership keynote speaker.
The event takes place in Columbus, Ohio, and proceeds benefit Pelotonia. RTRX is an event meant to bring business leaders together to find a cure for cancer.
Over the years, more than $2.1 million has been raised for Pelotonia. Walton will share insights from his life on and off the court, most specifically lessons he learned from legendary coach John Wooden.
While playing for Wooden, Walton won three consecutive national college player of the year awards at UCLA. The Bruins won back to back NCAA titles in 1972 and 1973.
The Portland Trail Blazers selected Walton with the top pick in the 1974 NBA Draft. While injuries robbed him of an even greater pro career, he was still a two-time All-Star and the 1978 NBA MVP.
Walton is a member of the College Basketball Hall of Fame and Basketball Hall of Fame. He is now an accomplished broadcaster who works for ESPN.
