Boston Red Sox owner Larry Lucchino is a respected businessman in Massachusetts. That makes him the perfect speaker for the 4th annual JA Titan Business Challenge.
The event takes place on Tuesday at UMass Dartmouth. Bristol County Savings Bank is the title sponsor for the event sponsored by Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts.
There are 200 students from 15 different schools across the region that are participating in the event. Lucchino will talk about many of the achievements the Red Sox have made while he has been part of the ownership group.
In addition to having a stake in the team, Lucchino is the former president and CEO of the Red Sox. The team won three World Series titles under his watch.
Prior to working with Boston, Lucchino had similar roles with the Baltimore Orioles and San Diego Padres. He successfully oversaw the opening of new stadiums with each franchise.
Lucchino has a legal background and he got involved in sports for the first time with the Orioles and Washington Redskins through his firm, Williams & Connolly. He is currently chairman and co-owner of the Red Sox minor league affiliate, the Pawtucket Red Sox.
