Louisiana State University remains near and dear to Fox Sports broadcaster Tim Brando's heart. Yesterday, the Louisiana native paid a visit to campus as a keynote speaker at the Reilly Center for Media & Public Affairs' Sports Communication Summit.
The event was held in the Journalism Building at the Manship School of Communication from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. It was free and open to the public.
Brando was the lunch keynote speaker from 12-1:15 p.m. and he also hosted a morning panel discussion titled, "Fielding the Microphone". NCAA president Mark Emmert served as the primary keynote presenter.
In 2014, Brando joined Fox Sports as one of the network's top play-by-play voices for college football and college basketball coverage. He previously had spent 18 years at CBS Sports in a variety of roles.
Brando was best known at CBS for his work as host of their "College Football Today" and "At The Half" shows. From 2001-2015, he alos hosted a nationally syndicated radio show that was also simulcast on CBS Sports Network for a period of time.
Before coming to CBS, Brando was at ESPN as a play-by-play voice and SportsCenter anchor for eight years. He started his career in television as the assistant sports director at Baton Rouge's WAFB-TV.
