BYU Head Coach Kalani Sitake Keynotes The Power to Become Conference

Brigham Young University hosted The Power to Become conference on May 19th. One of the keynote speakers was the school's football coach, Kalani Sitake

Hundreds of students attended the event that was hosted at the John W. Hart Building. The goal of the conference was to show students a road to success through networking.

There were also various games and prizes given away during the day. Sitake talked about pursuing his goal of playing NFL football and how he got into coaching.

Sitake had a tremendous first season at the helm of his alma mater. BYU went 9-4 with signature wins over Arizona, Michigan State and Mississippi State.

Before arriving back in Provo, Sitake spent a decade on the staff at Utah and one season as the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Oregon State. He began his coaching career at Eastern Arizona before spending a year as a graduate assistant at BYU and two seasons at Southern Utah.

As a player, Sitake was a three-year starter at fullback for the Cougars. He was BYU's Football Scholar Athlete of the Year in 1998 and helped lead the program to their first Mountain West Conference title in 1999.
