CBS Sports college basketball analyst Clark Kellogg gave a boost last week to some rising seniors at a Columbus, Ohio high school. He was the keynote speaker at St. Francis DeSales High School's Senior Spirit Day.
Kellogg has a natural connection with the school having sent three children through there. While several highlights from his playing career were shown prior to his presentation, he did not talk about basketball with the crowd.
Kellogg's presentation centered on the E's of Leadership: encouraging, enthusiasm, expectations and example. He shared various anecdotes from across his life to hammer each character trait home.
It was in the city with the Ohio State Buckeyes where Kellogg's basketball career first took off. He was the 1982 Big Ten Most Valuable Player and was selected eighth overall in that year's NBA Draft.
Kellogg played with the Indiana Pacers for five seasons before launching into a broadcasting career. He began as an analyst with ESPN in 1990.
Since 1993, Kellogg has been with CBS Sports. He also works with the Pacers television team as an analyst.
