Fresh off guiding the Boston Celtics to an improbable playoff appearance, Brad Stevens has been tabbed as the keynote speaker at a Carroll College banquet in Montana. Stevens will also headline a basketball clinic the following day.
On July 10th, he will speak on the campus for the dinner sponsored by First Interstate Bank. Tickets for the evening cost $50 and the event begins with a social hour at 6:15 p.m.
Then on the 11th, Stevens will be at the coaches’ clinic from 9 a.m-12 p.m. at Carroll’s PE Center. The session is $40 per person or $125 for an entire coaching staff.
Stevens started to make his mark in the NBA in his second season. Along with the playoff appearance, he was a finalist for the NBA Coach of the Year award.
His mark as a coach was made on the collegiate level at Butler. Stevens took the Bulldogs to five NCAA Tournaments in six seasons, including two national championship games.
Prior to becoming a head coach, he was an assistant at Butler. The Indianapolis native played collegiately at Depauw and originally did not consider a coaching career.
Stevens has risen from an unknown to one of the most prestigious jobs in basketball. His story can certainly be an inspiration to many.
