This is a big weekend for champion jockey Javier Castellano. He is being inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame on Friday.
On Saturday, Castellano will hold an autograph signing from 10-11 a.m. at the Museum. He will sign a special limited-edition commemorative poster for $15.
Castellano is being inducted alongside Triple Crown-winning jockey Victor Espinoza. The ceremony at the Fasig-Tipton pavilion is free and open to the public.
Castellano has won 4,727 races and collected over $284 in purse earnings. He is a two-time Preakness Stakes winner, including most recently this year aboard Cloud Computing.
Each of the last four years, Castellano has won the Eclipse Award for Oustanding Jockey. He has won seven Breeders' Cup races and a record five Travers Stakes races.
Castellano began his career as a jockey in 1996 and moved to the United States a year later. He scored his first major victories, including the Breeders' Cup Classic, in 2004 with Ghostzapper.
