Chicago Cubs Star Infielder Javier Baez Signs Autographs at State Street Macy’s Monday

A throng of Chicago Cubs fans is poised to meet star infielder Javier Baez at his first post-World Series personal appearance Monday.  He will be signing autographs at the Macy's store on State Street.

The event is going to take place on the first floor starting at noon.  When the store opens, the first 175 people who spend over $35 at Macy's Locker Room by LIDS store get a place in line to meet Baez.

There will be a Make-A-Wish child who meets Baez first at the event.  Only items purchased in the store can be autographed and no personal photos are allowed.

Baez was one of baseball's breakout stars in the playoffs.  During the National League Championship Series, he hit .318 with five RBIs on the way to co-Most Valuable Player honors.

In Game 2 of the series, Baez became just the 19th player in postseason history to steal home.  It capped off his first full season in the big leagues where he hit .273 with 14 home runs and 59 RBI in 142 games.

Since being drafted out of high school with the ninth overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft, Baez has been one of the game's top prospects.  He originally debuted in 2014 and hit his first career homer in his first game to beat the Colorado Rockies in 12 innings.
