Clemson Football Coach Dabo Swinney Keynotes Jimmy Rane Charity Golf Tournament Banquet

Festivities for the 17th annual Jimmy Rane Charity Golf Tournament kicked off last night. At the tournament's silent auction and banquet, Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney served as keynote speaker. 

The golf tournament teed off this morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Capitol Hill Course in Prattville. There are several high-profile current and former college football coaches participating like Gus Malzahn, Frank Beamer and Vince Dooley

This year, the Jimmy Rane Foundation has awarded a record 34 new scholarships. They have handed out a total of 350 scholarships. 

This January, Swinney led Clemson to their second national championship in program history. They have finished each of the last five seasons ranked in the top 15. 

Under Swinney's watch, the Tigers have won three Atlantic Coast Conference titles. He was named ACC Coach of the Year and won several national coach of the year awards in 2015. 

After serving as a Clemson assistant for six years, Swinney took over as interim head coach in 2008. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Alabama, in 1993.
